"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." — Psalm 119:105 (NASB 2020)

"All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man or woman of God may be fully capable, equipped for every good work."

— 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NASB 2020)

Why "Yeshua"?

Yeshua (ישוע) is the original Hebrew name of the Messiah — the name His mother Miriam, His disciples, and His first Jewish followers called Him. It means "The Lord is Salvation" (from yasha, meaning to save or deliver).

The name "Jesus" comes through Greek (Iēsous) into Latin (Iesus) and then into English. Both refer to the same Person, but Yeshua connects us to His Jewish roots, His Hebrew Scriptures, and the original language in which He taught: "Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill" (Matthew 5:17).

We use Yeshua to honor His identity as the Jewish Messiah who came for all nations — the same Yeshua who said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me" (John 14:6 NASB).

"And she will give birth to a Son; and you shall name Him Jesus [Yeshua], for He will save His people from their sins." — Matthew 1:21 (NASB 2020)

Grace

For by grace you have been saved through faith — Ephesians 2:8 NASB

Grace (charis in Greek) is unmerited, undeserved favor — God's goodness freely given to those who could never earn it. The Law demands, but grace supplies. Grace is not a license to sin but the power to live righteously. It is the foundation of our salvation, the sustainer of our daily walk, and the ultimate expression of God's love through Yeshua the Messiah.

"For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace. For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ." — John 1:16-17 (NASB 2020)
I. What Is Grace?

— Romans 6:15 (NASB 2020)

Love

We love, because He first loved us — 1 John 4:19 NASB

Love (agape in Greek) is not merely an emotion but the very essence of God's nature. Scripture declares that "God is love" (1 John 4:8). Love is the greatest commandment, the fulfillment of the Law, the fruit of the Spirit, and the distinguishing mark of every true disciple of Yeshua the Messiah. Without love, all religious activity is meaningless.

"If I speak with the tongues of mankind and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal." — 1 Corinthians 13:1 (NASB 2020)
I. God Is Love — His Love for Us

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life."

— John 3:16 (NASB 2020)

"We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him."

— 1 John 4:16 (NASB 2020)

"For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

— Romans 8:38-39 (NASB 2020)

"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

— Romans 5:8 (NASB 2020)

"For the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came forth from the Father."

— John 16:27 (NASB 2020)

"Beloved, let's love one another; for love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love."

— 1 John 4:7-8 (NASB 2020)

"In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins."

— 1 John 4:10 (NASB 2020)

"We love, because He first loved us."

— 1 John 4:19 (NASB 2020)

"The Lord appeared to him long ago, saying, 'I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have drawn you out with kindness.'"

— Jeremiah 31:3 (NASB 2020)
II. Love for One Another — The New Commandment

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all people will know that you are My disciples: if you have love for one another."

— John 13:34-35 (NASB 2020)

"This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that a person will lay down his life for his friends."

— 1 Thessalonians 3:12 (NASB 2020)
III. The Definition of Love — 1 Corinthians 13

"If I speak with the tongues of mankind and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have the gift of prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. And if I give away all my possessions to feed others, and if I surrender my body so that I may glory, but do not have love, it does me no good."

— 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 (NASB 2020)

"Love is patient, love is kind, it is not jealous; love does not brag, it is not arrogant. It does not act disgracefully, it does not seek its own benefit; it is not provoked, does not keep an account of a wrong suffered. It does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; it keeps every confidence, it believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails."

— 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (NASB 2020)

"But now faith, hope, and love remain these three; but the greatest of these is love."

— Colossians 3:14 (NASB 2020)
VI. The Great Commandment — Loving God

"And He said to him, 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the great and foremost commandment. And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' Upon these two commandments hang the whole Law and the Prophets."

Faith

Now faith is the certainty of things hoped for, a proof of things not seen — Hebrews 11:1 NASB

Faith (pistis in Greek) is the foundation of the believer's relationship with God — complete trust and reliance on Him and His promises. Biblical faith is not blind optimism but confident assurance based on the revealed character and Word of God. It is the means by which we are saved, the principle by which we walk, and the victory that overcomes the world.

"For whatever has been born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith." — 1 John 5:4 (NASB 2020)

— Hebrews 11:24-25 (NASB 2020)
V. Faith and Works

— Revelation 2:10 (NASB 2020)

Hope

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing — Romans 15:13 NASB

Hope (elpis in Greek) in Scripture is not wishful thinking or mere optimism — it is confident, joyful expectation rooted in the faithful promises of God. Biblical hope looks backward to what God has already done (the resurrection of Yeshua), forward to what He will do (His return and the new creation), and upward to who He is (faithful and true). Hope is an anchor for the soul, sure and steadfast.

"This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast." — Hebrews 6:19 (NASB 2020)

— Lamentations 3:26 (NASB 2020)

Forgiveness

Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you — Ephesians 4:32 NASB

Forgiveness is at the very heart of the Gospel. God, through the sacrificial death and resurrection of Yeshua the Messiah, offers complete pardon for every sin to all who repent and believe. This forgiveness is not earned — it is a free gift of grace. And just as we have been forgiven an immeasurable debt, we are called to extend that same forgiveness to others. Unforgiveness blocks our fellowship with God and with one another.

"Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you." — Ephesians 4:32 (NASB 2020)

"Who is a God like You, who pardons wrongdoing and passes over a rebellious act of the remnant of His possession? He does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in mercy. — 2 Corinthians 7:10 (NASB 2020)
IV. The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant

"For this reason, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his slaves. When he began to settle them, one who owed ten thousand talents was brought to him. But since he did not have the means to repay, his master commanded him to be sold, along with his wife and children and all that he had, and repayment to be made. So the slave fell to the ground and prostrated himself before him, saying, 'Have patience with me and I will repay you everything.' And the master of that slave felt compassion and released him, and forgave him the debt."

— Matthew 18:23-27 (NASB 2020)

"But that slave went out and found one of his fellow slaves who owed him a hundred denarii; and he seized him and began to choke him, saying, 'Pay back what you owe.' Salvation

And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among mankind by which we must be saved — Acts 4:12 NASB

Salvation (soteria in Greek) is the deliverance from sin and death through the grace of God in Yeshua the Messiah. It is a free gift received by faith — not earned by works, but evidenced by a transformed life. Salvation includes past, present, and future dimensions: we have been saved from the penalty of sin (justification), we are being saved from the power of sin (sanctification), and we will be saved from the presence of sin (glorification).

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." — Romans 6:23 (NASB 2020)

Peace (shalom in Hebrew, eirene in Greek) is far more than the absence of conflict — it is wholeness, completeness, well-being, and the tranquil assurance that comes from being right with God through Yeshua the Messiah. The peace that God gives surpasses all human understanding and guards our hearts and minds in Christ. Peace is both a gift we receive and a pursuit we are called to actively follow.

Yeshua the Messiah

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation — Colossians 1:15 NASB

Yeshua the Messiah (Jesus Christ) is the central figure of all Scripture — the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man, who created all things, became flesh to save His people from their sins, died on the cross, rose again on the third day, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return to judge the living and the dead. He is the promised Seed of Abraham, the Son of David, the Lamb of God, and the King of Kings. All of Scripture points to Him.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God... And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us." — John 1:1, 14 (NASB 2020)
I. His Deity — He Is God

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being. And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us; and we saw His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth."

— John 1:1-3, 14 (NASB 2020)

"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation: for by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together."

— Colossians 1:15-17 (NASB 2020)

"Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, as He already existed in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied Himself by taking the form of a bond-servant and being born in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death: death on a cross. For this reason also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name."

— Philippians 2:5-9 (NASB 2020)

"God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high."
